Here are among the few dishes mom cooked for my sister's simple birthday celebration. From left to right starting from the top are garlic fried shrimps then next to it is grilled "Barilles" which I think is a small tuna. Then next is Lapu-lapu fish in sweet and sour sauce and lastly is grilled "Panga"which I have no idea what is its english name. I forgot to take a photo of the sauces for the "sinugba" which means grilled. Anyway, the dippings or sauce we make for the grilled fish is a combination of soy sauce, "suha" or key limes in english, chopped onions, chopped garlic and raw green tomatoes. Ahhh...how I love the crunchy and sweet taste of green tomatoes. One word to describe it ---heaven!!!
